Principles & Elements
To develop a solid foundation for Aikido we practice Ki development exercises and follow Kokikai principles:
Keep One Point
Relax Progressively
Correct Posture
Develop Positive Mind
These same principles apply in daily life.
There are five core elements to Kokikai training. We focus on self-defense techniques but all elements are integrated.
Techniques (empty-hand and weapons training)
Ki development exercises
Ki breathing
Ki meditation
Kiatsu (acupressure points)
Classes are designed to develop a calm mind and a strong coordinated body through the practice of ki development exercises, breathing and meditation, and effective self-defense techniques.
